Pine Bunk Beds Buying Advice
We understand that it is
confusing deciding on the right pine bunk beds for your home. We offer impartial free advice to help
you make the right decision.
You should first consider how long you
will actually need the bunk beds for your children. It could be that this is just a temporary move until you build
an extension on your home or move to a bigger property. May be that the bunk beds are only to be used until the
eldest child moves out of your home.
If it is a short term measure it may be
that you can get away with a lower quality bunk bed. You can normally tell the lower priced products quite easily
if you know what your looking for.
Firstly, you need to look at the
thickness of the pine posts of the bunk bed. Bear in mind that your children will love jumping around on the bunk
beds and the cheap bunk beds may not be up to the stresses this will put upon them.
Another place to look is the
the wooden slats that support the mattress. Often on a pine bunk bed you will find that these are made of
cheaper, less robust wood that often break after a year or so. If the bunk bed is needed longer term look for one
that has pine slats as these will be longer lasting.
Your bunk bed will be delivered flat
packed and will need to to put together. This is a fairly easy process but please remember to erect it in the
bedroom that you intend to use it in. This may seem obvious but you will find it very difficult moving a fully put
together bunk bed from one room to the next.
Do you have bunk bed matresses already
or do you need to buy a new pair? If so I would invest in a good quality pair because a thin one on top of the
slats will not give your child a good night sleep. If your child suffers from allergies remember to buy a hypo
allergenic mattress for them and don't forget normal single bed mattresses may not fit the bunk beds which are
normally narrower. So you may have to invest in a new pair unless they are included when you buy your new pine bunk
bed.
